
Simple Breakfast Oatmeal

- ½ cup large flake oats
- ½ cup unsweetened almond/soy/oat milk (or water)
- ½ cup frozen berries (blueberries/raspberries/strawberries)
- ½ cup finely chopped or grated apple
- 1 Tbsp ground flax
- 1 small banana, mashed
- 1 Tbsp ground hemp hearts
- Optional: 1 Tbsp pumpkin seeds and walnut halves
DIRECTIONS
- Add oats, grated apple, and frozen berries to a small pot and cover with water.
- Bring to a boil, then turn heat to medium-low and cook oats for 5 minutes or until desired tenderness is reached. Stir in your milk, mashed banana, and flaxseed.
- Remove from heat and add to a bowl. Add more milk if desired and top with hemp hearts, pumpkin seeds and walnuts.
*If you do not have a fresh apple on hand, substitute with unsweetened apple sauce (1/2 cup or as much as is desired for added sweetness).
